When your pets can’t stay at home, pick the next best thing: a stay at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. Whether you’re boarding your pet for one day or for two weeks, we’ll make their stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Dog Boarding
With Small, Medium, Large, and Luxury Canine Boarding Suites available our boarding facility offers separate heated and air-conditioned kennels. Our Luxury Boarding Suites are large enough that several dogs from one family can stay together in the same custom room and enjoy a window view of our grounds. All our canine boarders are exercised and allowed to run in the outdoor play yard several times a day. All boarding suites include bowls, bedding, and dog-safe toys.

Cat Boarding
Our feline boarders enjoy a space kept separate from the dog kennel area, allowing for a stress-free environment and exercising. All boarding suites include bowls, bedding, litter box, and toys.

Exotic Boarding
We accept boarding reservations for exotic pets including bunnies, ferrets, hamsters, gerbils, reptiles, and birds. Owners must supply food and an enclosure/habitat.

Luxury Suites
Our Luxury Suites provide a spacious and relaxing atmosphere with Dutch (half-height) doors, so dogs can stand up and look outside. Each suite is provided with bowls, bedding, and dog-safe toys. These suites are ideal for multiple dogs from the same family.

$60 per night.
$30.00 per day for each additional guest.

Cats
Cat suites are separate from the dog boarding area.

Day Boarding
We offer day boarding for clients who have pets that might need a little extra supervision during the day. Pets dropped off after 7am and picked up before 8pm the same day qualify for day boarding rates.

Boarding Policies & Requirements

All pets boarding with us must be current on parasite and flea prevention and current on their immunizations.

All pets must be in good health. All medications must be in the original prescription vials; we cannot administer medications in unlabeled pill containers. If not, we will reissue the prescription for you and corresponding fees will apply. Pets that are on more than 4 prescription medications per day or require special medical services may be admitted to our hospital for Medical Boarding. Dogs

Must be 4 months of age
Proof of current Rabies immunization
Proof of current Distemper & Parvo immunization (DHPP or DHLPP vaccine)
Proof of current Bordetella immunization

Cats

Must be 4 months of age
Proof of current Feline Distemper immunization (FVRCP vaccine)

Exotic Pets

Vaccines are not required for exotic pets to board
Owners must supply food and enclosure/habitat

Drop Off & Pick Up Time:
Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center is open 7 days a week. We make it easy for you to pick up and drop off, even on the weekends! Our boarding pick up and drop off hours are:

Monday – Friday 7:00 am - 9:30 pm
Saturday – Sunday 8:00 am – 7:00 pm

Just like a hotel for people, checkout time Monday through Sunday is 12:00PM, if your pet is picked up after noon you will be charged for the day’s board.

Prime Reservation Rates:
During Prime Reservation times an additional fee of $3.00 will apply per day.

Deposit Policy:
A deposit of 50% of the estimated boarding total will be required when booking a stay during Prime Reservation dates. If a deposit has not been received within 2 days of booking the date, the reservation will be canceled. Deposits can be made through our website for your convenience.

Cancellation Policy:
If a reservation is cancelled within 72 hours of the check-in date or if the client fails to check-in, the deposit will not be returned.

Boarding Frequently Asked Questions

1. How often will my pet be exercised?

Dogs

Dogs are let outside four times a day in our enclosed play area
Our outdoor exercise yards allow dogs to play and run off their energy
They are supervised at all times
Our yards are fully equipped with toys, doggy pools, and shade to keep dogs cool during the hot summer months

Cats

Cats have the opportunity to exercise outside of their suite 3 times a day

2. What if I want extra playtime for my pet?

We offer TLC (Tender Loving Care) as an option for extra playtime for your pet. TLCs are 30 minutes of additional pampering for your pet. It could be an on leash walk, extra yard time, a brush out, or whatever your pet most enjoys. TLCs are $15 per session and can be requested on the Boarding Registration form.

3. What should I pack?

Pack light! We provide bedding, food, bowls, leashes, and toys. We cannot be responsible for lost toys, bedding, crates or bowls. For more information about food, please see the next question.
You should bring any medication or supplements your pet is taking. Make sure all medications are in the original prescription vials; we cannot administer medications in unlabeled pill containers.
All we need for you to provide is the completed Boarding Registration form and proof of vaccines; we’ll take care of the rest!

4. Should I bring my pet’s food?

If your pet is on a special diet, please bring their own food.
Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center provides quality food as part of the boarding service. However, a sudden switch in diet can cause diarrhea. If you are concerned, we encourage you to bring your pet’s regular food. This may also help keep things familiar and consistent for your pet while they are staying with us.
Owners must provide food for exotic pets.
We are able to refrigerate food if necessary.

5. What are your hours?

Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center is open 7 days a week. We make it easy for you to pick up and drop off, even on the weekends! Boarding pick up and drop of times are as follows:

Saturday -Sunday 8:00 am - 7:00 pm

6. Do I need to make a reservation?

Yes! We book up quickly, especially during Prime Reservation dates. To ensure your pet has a space reservations are necessary.

7. Do you offer Day Boarding?

We do! Please see our section on Day Boarding under Boarding Rates.

8. What if my pet has a medical condition?

Medical Boarding is special boarding care for pets with medical conditions that require a level of care beyond the routine services provided by our regular Boarding staff. These pets stay in our Patient Care Ward, and are cared for by veterinary technicians 24 hours a day.
Pets must receive a physical exam annually by a Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center veterinarian in order to be eligible for medical boarding services. If you are interested in scheduling a Medical Boarding stay for your pet, please call us at 925-866-8387 for more information and to make an appointment.
Pricing for Medical Boarding with 24 hour nursing supervision starts at $72 per day. The total fee will depend on the level of medical care that your pet needs. All medications you bring for your pet to take must be in their original prescription vials.
Please bring a completed Medical Boarding Admit Form when you drop off your pet.

9. What happens if my pet becomes sick while boarding?

One of the advantages of boarding your pet at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center is that veterinary attention is readily available if the need arises. We will assess the situation, and if a doctor’s exam is needed, one will be performed right away. We will contact you to inform you of your pet’s condition and any recommended treatment. An estimate for any proposed services will be provided.

10. Are the kennels indoors?

All pet suites are indoors, and are equipped with heating and air conditioning. Dogs are exercised outside in our play yards while cats are exercised indoors.

11. Can my pet receive a bath during their stay?

Yes, you can request a bath for your pet while they are staying with us on your Boarding Registration form. Baths are usually performed the day before going home.
