Megan Armor, DVM
Dr. Megan Armor is a 2006 graduate of the Veterinary School of the University of California, Davis. She previously graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, San Diego with a B.S in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Before veterinary school, Dr. Armor devoted her spare time to working at animal shelters; both the Santa Clara Humane Society and the Helen Woodward Animal Center in San Diego. Currently she volunteers with the Tri-Valley Fix-Our-Ferals spay and neuter clinic in Dublin. An experienced veterinarian, Dr. Armor has a special interest in treating pocket pets such as ferrets, rabbits, and guinea pigs, in addition to cats and dogs. She grew up in the Bay Area and currently lives in Walnut Creek with her Labrador Gator, Boxer Ringo, orange tabby Catface and an Oscar-fish named Robby.

John C Baine III, DVM, ABVP
Dr. Baine is a 1985 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University and has been practicing veterinary medicine in Contra Costa County for 25 years. He completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Illinois veterinary school in 1986 then practiced at Valley Veterinary Hospital in Walnut Creek for 6 years before going on to own and operate Plaza Pet Hospital & Surgery Center in Alamo for the past 18 years. Dr. Baine is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Canine & Feline Practice). His special interests are in general and orthopedic surgery as well as internal medicine. He lives in Danville with his 3 teenage children, a mini Australian Shepherd and 3 cats.

Janice L. Cain, DVM, ACVIM
Dr. Cain graduated from the Veterinary School at the University of California, Davis in 1984. Following a residency there she became board certified in Internal Medicine in 1989. Her special interests are Internal Medicine, Oncology, Endocrinology, and Canine Reproduction. She is a nationally recognized expert in Canine Reproduction, and has lectured at veterinary conferences around the country. She lives in Pleasanton with her husband, 3 children and their dog.

James DeLano, DVM
Dr. DeLano graduated from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. In 1989, he and Dr. Utchen co-founded Norris Canyon Veterinary Medical Center in San Ramon, which in the year 2000 became Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. His special interests are Soft Tissue Surgery and Behavior. He lives in San Ramon with his wife and 4 children, along with 4 dogs (from a Chihuahua to a Great Dane) and 2 cats.

Michele Dodd, DVM
Dr. Dodd is a 2003 graduate of the Veterinary School at the University of California, Davis. She joined Bishop Ranch in July 2003. Her special interests are Internal Medicine, Preventive Care and Emergency/Critical Care. Dr. Dodd is also treats exotic pets including reptiles and small mammals such as rabbits, hamsters, and rats. She lives in Livermore with her partner and son. They share their home with their 3 cats, Motor, Damien and Monroe and their dogs Keira.

Cynthia Easton, DVM Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist
Dr. Easton is a graduate of the Veterinary School at the University of California, Davis, and has practiced veterinary medicine for over 15 years. After a medicine and surgery internship at the University of Pennsylvania veterinary school, Dr. Easton worked for Pets Unlimited in San Francisco where she began pursuing an interest in holistic medicine. Doctor Easton has taken courses in Homeopathy, Western and Chinese herbology, and is certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Providing clients with multiple options, doctor Easton helps clients choose the type of medicine best suited for them and their pets. Dr. Easton lives in San Bruno with her husband, two children, three dogs, one rat, turtles and koi.

Larry Gilman, DVM
Dr. Larry Gilman is a 1983 graduate from the College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University. He completed an internship in medicine and surgery at Sacramento Animal Medical Group, then worked at Danville Veterinary Hospital. Doctor Gilman founded Marketplace Veterinary Hospital in San Ramon in 1989 and recently joined Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center & Urgent Care in July 2006. His special interests include Feline Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Doctor Gilman has a special interest in treating Labradors and German Shepherds. He lives in Lafayette with his wife Patsy, 3 cats and his dogs Molly, Lucinda and Forest.

Shann Ikezawa, DVM
Dr. Ikezawa is a 1997 graduate of the Veterinary School at the University of California, Davis, where she focused on both small animal and exotic animal medicine. She completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery in 1998, and practiced for 2 years with an avian specialist. She was on staff at Crow Canyon Veterinary Clinic prior to its merger to become Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. Her special interests are soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and avian/exotic medicine (including rabbits, rodents, and reptiles). She also works closely with pug rescue and has a special interest in pugs and their unique medicine and needs.

Kristi Peterson, DVM
Dr. Peterson is a graduate of the Veterinary School at the University of California, Davis. Prior to her veterinary degree, Dr. Peterson received her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, followed by a Master's in Biomedical Sciences. Before graduating from UC Davis, Dr. Peterson worked as a veterinary technician and completed a small animal rotating internship from the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego. She lives in Oakland with her one eyed Jack Russell mix, Sheldon, and her cat Wilson. She enjoys road biking, yoga, running, reading and entertaining her dog.

Liesl Peterson, DVM
Dr. Peterson is a 1997 graduate of the Veterinary School at the University of California, Davis. She was on staff at Norris Canyon Veterinary Medical Center prior to its merger to become Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. Her special interests are Dentistry, Behavior, and Preventive Care. She lives in Danville with her husband, 2 children, and their French Bulldog, George.

James Pogrel, DVM
Dr. Pogrel is a 1998 graduate of the Veterinary School at the University of California, Davis. He completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine in 1999, and was on staff at Norris Canyon Veterinary Medical Center prior to its merger to become Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. In 2005 he became a partner with Dr. DeLano and Dr. Utchen in Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. His special interests are Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Laparoscopy, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Emergency/Critical Care. He lives in Oakland with his wife and two sons, their dog Keegan and two cats, Macallan and Cricket.

Leanne Taylor, DVM
Dr. Taylor is a graduate from the Veterinary School at the University of California, Davis. She completed her internship at NYC Veterinary Specialists in Manhattan, and at their sister clinic in Florida, where she furthered her special interest in exotic pets (reptiles, small mammals and amphibians). Dr. Taylor's special interests center around surgery -- orthopedics and soft tissue -- as well as cardiovascular, respiratory medicine and exotic pets. Outside of veterinary medicine, she spends her time skiing, road cycling, and spending time with her fiancé and their three legged dog, Nuchal, cat Saulter, and 65 year old desert tortoise, Mert.

Franklin Utchen, DVM
Dr. Utchen graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. In 1989 he and Dr. DeLano co-founded Norris Canyon Veterinary Medical Center in San Ramon, which in the year 2000 became Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. His special interests are Orthopedic and Soft Tissue Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency/Critical Care, Dentistry, and Anesthesiology/Pain Management. He lives in San Ramon with his wife and 2 daughters and their two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Tori and Gus.

Kristel Weaver, MA, MPVM, DVM
Dr. Weaver is a graduate of the Veterinary School at the University of California, Davis where she did a dual degree program, receiving both a DVM and a master's of Preventative Veterinary Medicine (MPVM). She then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at San Francisco Veterinary Specialists. She has been at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center & Urgent Care since 2007. She currently lives in Oakland with her husband and their daughter, Hayley. They have a yellow Labrador named Cooper, a German Short Haired Pointer named Ellie and a three legged cat named Schwartz.

Kirsten Williams, DVM Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist
Dr. Williams graduated from the Veterinary School at the University of California, Davis in 1992. She was on staff at Crow Canyon Veterinary Clinic prior to its merger to become Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. In 1998 she became certified in veterinary acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, and is one of only two veterinarians in the region who provide this care for dogs and cats. With training in both conventional western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Williams is able to integrate multiple treatment modalities for her patients. She lives in Oakland with her husband, two children, a cat, crawfish, and a snake.
