Our veterinary technicians work tirelessly to provide quality care to our patients day after day and are an integral part of our hospital and mission. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a highly-skilled, compassionate, and committed technician team!
As you may have guessed, National Veterinary Technician Week is an annual celebration dedicated to vet techs. It was launched in 1993 by the National Association of Veterinary Technicians (NAVTA), a U.S.-based not-for-profit organization committed to advancing the profession of veterinary nursing through advocacy, awareness, and professional development.
National Vet Tech Week takes place the third week of October and has a different theme every year. This year the theme was ‘Veterinary Technicians’ Resilience is the Heart of Veterinary Medicine.’
Resilience is integral to long-term success in the veterinary industry. It is particularly important for vet techs, who routinely face challenges withuncooperative patients, distressed clients, and emotionally charged situations - all while supporting veterinarians with highly technical work to deliver the best care possible. Equipped with a well-rounded set of technical and personal skills, vet techs handle a diverse range of responsibilities and are truly the glue that holds the practice together.
National Veterinary Technician Week aims to bring awareness to the importance of resilience while recognizing all the hard work that vet techs do every day.
