Some dogs win you over right away. Others need a little time to feel comfortable before they let their personality shine—and Kip is one of those special dogs. Beneath his movie-star good looks and striking bi-colored eyes is a sweet, goofy boy who simply needs someone patient enough to earn his trust.
At about 2 years old and 40 pounds, this handsome Siberian Husky mix is looking for a family who will give him the time, kindness, and understanding he needs to come out of his shell. Once Kip feels safe and comfortable with you, his affectionate and playful personality begins to shine, along with his love for toys, walks, friendly doggos, and plenty of snuggles.
Kip would like to introduce himself…
“Hello! I’m Kip—or as my adoring volunteer fans like to call me, Kipper. I’m a ridiculously handsome, incredibly sweet and delightfully goofy Siberian Husky mix. I’m about 2 years old and weigh around 40 lbs.
When we meet, you’ll be struck my movie-star good looks. And when I get closer, you’ll be completely captivated by my dreamy bi-colored eyes—one a cool, icy Arctic blue, the other a warm golden brown like the rising sun. Well, before you go gaga over yours truly, let me tell you that what really sets me apart is my irresistibly cute and goofy personality.
When we meet, I might take a little time to warm up to you at first, but once I get to know and trust you, I'm all about the snuggles, kisses, and head scratches. While I love affection and enjoy spending time with my people, I'm not a velcro dog and don't need to be by your side every second. I’m quite happy and content to just chill on my own, too.
You'll also discover that I LOVE engaging with friendly doggos! If I spot a playful pup in a neighboring yard, my tail (and butt) starts a wiggly-waggy paw-ty! I’ll happily race along the fence, chattering and "singing" my husky heart out in hopes of making a new fur-riend. If you have doggos at home, do bring them along for a supervised, on-leash meet and greet!
My favoritest thing in the world is bunny-hopping after a stuffy toy and zooming around the yard with it proudly clutched in my mouth! I even have a cute habit of collecting toys and carrying them to my own special spot in the yard and happily rolling all over them. I can't wait to get home and have a space that I can call my own where I can proudly stash and show off my toy collection! Well, a boy can dream, can’t he?
I also enjoy going on sniffaris and love reading and responsing to the pee-mails from my shelter fur-riends. My volunteer fans say I'm a wonderful walking buddy. I stroll nicely on leash and check in with them every now and then. While I'm not a foodie, I do enjoy the occasional treat—and when I take one, I'm as gentle as can be. I seem to prefer praise, affection and spending time with my favorite doggo and human pals.
I'd do best in a family who truly understands and loves my breed. Someone who’ll be patient, kind and loving and will help me blossom into the best version of myself I can be. I paw-mise that every ounce of kindness you pour into me, I’ll give back to you tenfold in loyalty, love, and companionship.
I’m already neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and more than ready to hop into our car and drive home with you!”
Kip may need a little extra time to get comfortable, but once he decides you’re one of his people, you’ll discover just how much love this sweet boy has to give. Between his goofy personality, wiggly excitement around friendly dogs, love of toy adventures, and those unforgettable mismatched eyes, Kip has so many wonderful qualities waiting to be discovered.
He’s hoping for a family who will be patient with him, celebrate the little moments as he grows more confident, and give him a place where he can truly feel at home. In return, Kip promises to fill that home with loyalty, companionship, goofy Husky antics, and plenty of love.
If you think you might be the patient, loving person Kip has been waiting for, consider stopping by to meet him. His forever family may be the one who takes the time to see the wonderful boy waiting just beneath that shy exterior.
