Art for Animals Featuring Mylette Welch

  We’re excited to continue Art for Animals, our monthly community initiative at Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center that brings together local artists and a shared love for helping animals.
 

  Each month, we feature a local artist on our Art for Animals Wall inside the hospital. The artwork is available for purchase, with proceeds from each sale donated to an animal rescue, shelter, or conservation organization selected by the artist. It’s a simple way to support local artists while also giving back to organizations making a difference for animals.
 

Featured Artist: Mylette Welch

  This month, we’re proud to feature local artist Mylette Welch.
 

  Mylette’s collection includes vibrant acrylic paintings filled with color, whimsy, and personality. From florals and botanicals to playful animal portraits, her 11 pieces currently on display bring a beautiful pop of color to our reception area.

Supporting Pug Rescue of Northern California

  Throughout the month, proceeds from Mylette Welch’s artwork sold through Art for Animals will benefit Pug Rescue of Northern California.
 

  Pug Rescue of Northern California is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming pugs in need. Their work includes providing medical care, supporting foster families, and helping pugs find loving forever homes throughout Northern California.
 

  We’re grateful to Mylette for choosing to support such a wonderful organization through her collection.
 

About Mylette Welch

  Painter Mylette Welch was born on the sun-drenched, color-saturated island of Oahu before her family moved to Bakersfield when she was two. She remembers wondering, “Where did all the color go?” That love of color has remained a defining part of her work.
 

  Mylette’s paintings draw inspiration from the world around her, including vineyards, farmers’ markets, neighborhood gardens, old trucks, diners, gas stations, and other familiar places. Her work also has a playful, imaginative side, sometimes blending everyday scenes with the surreal world of dreams and memories.
 

  Animals—especially dogs—have been a longtime source of inspiration. Over the years, dogs belonging to family, friends, neighbors, and local shelters have found their way into her paintings. Today, Mylette’s two rescue Pugs, Toaster and Lola, keep her company while she paints in her studio.
 

  Mylette says, “I try to have a good time. When people view my work, I hope it makes them smile.” We think that spirit comes through beautifully in her colorful, playful paintings.
