Meet Wyatt: A Gentle Soul Looking for His Forever Home

Some dogs make a big first impression. Others quietly work their way into your heart. Wyatt is one of those special companions whose calm, kind nature reminds us that sometimes the best friendships are built one slow walk, one quiet moment, and one wagging tail at a time.

At 7 years old and 46 pounds, this handsome Cattledog/Pit Bull Terrier mix is searching for a family who will appreciate his gentle spirit, respectful personality, and unwavering companionship. Wyatt would like to introduce himself...

"Dear Hoomans…You’re Missing Out…

…on a cool, calm and collected companion! Hello! I’m Wyatt — the doggo to Netflix and chill with, who’ll quietly keep you company during Zoom calls or gardening and join you on daily strolls to help you slow down and smell the roses.

I’m a handsome 7-year-old Cattledog/Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing about 46 lbs. I’ve got the cutest boopable nose, the most endearing freckles, and a pair of floppy bunny ears that are guaranteed to make you smile.

When we meet, you'll notice that I love the local doggo gossip and spend plenty of time reading all the neighborhood "pee-mails" and, of course, leaving a few updates of my own.

Once I've caught up, I'll gently approach you—especially if you happen to be carrying treats—and I'll happily show off my excellent manners by sitting like the “goooo boy” I am and patiently waiting for my reward. I love treats so much that when it’s finally time to enjoy one, my excitement might show and I can be a little enthusiastic taking it from your hand.

I’m not the type to rush into relationships or demand constant attention—I prefer making friends at my own pace. I’m also very respectful of your personal space and won’t barge in. But once you’re in my heart, you’ll find me quietly following you about and hanging out nearby, content just being in your presence. You might also get lucky and be rewarded with a few Wyatt-special kisses.

I enjoy politely interacting with doggos in the neighboring yards—big or small. That said, if they bark at me, I may feel the need to offer my opinion right back. But I am easy to redirect, especially with treats. If you have a doggo, please bring them along for a supervised, on-leash meet-and-greet to see how we get along.

When my volunteer buddies take me out of the kennel, I wait calmly and patiently to be leashed. I don’t get overly excited or jump up on people. On a sniffari, I stay calm, stroll right by their side and even check in with them every now and then. After my outing, I quietly curl up on my bed in the kennel.

Because I'm such a goooo boy, I recently got to go on a field trip! I rode calmly in the car taking in the sights and smells. There were people to charm, doggos to greet, pup-cups to be had—and I took it all in stride and had fun exploring the world outside the shelter. Hopefully, my next car ride out will be HOME SWEET HOME!

I’d love a forever home with a kind person or family who appreciates a sweet senior doggo like yours truly. Nothing would make me happier than offering you my steady, quiet companionship. Hope is all I have now and I so hope to meet you soon."

Wyatt may not be the loudest dog in the room, but he's the kind who leaves a lasting impression. With his calm demeanor, gentle heart, and impeccable manners, he's ready to be a loyal companion for someone looking to share life's quieter moments.

Whether it's enjoying peaceful neighborhood walks, relaxing together at home, or simply keeping each other company, Wyatt is hoping his next adventure ends where it matters most—with a family of his own.

If you've been searching for a devoted companion who will bring comfort, kindness, and unconditional love into your life, Wyatt could be the perfect match.
