May Employee of the Month: Reina Loza!

BRVC is delighted to announce Reina Loza as our Employee of the Month for May.  Reina joined the BRVC family in 2007 and quickly became one of our most respected and well rounded technicians.  With no experience in the Veterinary field, Reina was hired as an assistant to the technicians but with her drive, intelligence, hard work, and positive attitude, Reina became a Registered Veterinary Technician that staff now looks up to.  From compassionately taking care of sick pets in Patient Care, to successfully monitoring critical anesthetic procedures, to being a patient's dental hygienist providing much needed extensive dental care; Reina does it all!  The list goes on and on.  "I like to say that I was "born and raised" at BRVC because it is the only veterinary hospital I have ever worked for.  The amazing technicians and doctors here have taught me almost everything I know about being a veterinary technician... Knowing that I had found my career path, I was motivated to go back to school to get my license, and in 2013 I became an RVT!"

Reina had initially been pursuing a different avenue in her education and unfortunately she had to put that education on hold; she decided to pursue a job where she could still work closely with animals while she paused her education.  This is where BRVC got lucky and Reina found us.  "While in college, I took an evolutionary biology class which really resonated with me.  After graduating, I decided I wanted to pursue a Masters degree in zoology.  My dream was to become a field biologist, doing research in the cloud forests of Costa Rica.  As luck would have it, I had to put my schooling on hold.  So I decided to go in search of a job where I could get experience working hands-on with animals.  That is when I found Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center.  During my working interview, I fell in love with the hospital and staff.  I knew right away it was the perfect place for me.  I was hired the same day and I haven't looked back since!"

Reina was born and raised in Hayward, California.  After high school she attended California State University, Chico, where she earned a Bachelor degree in Latin American Studies and in Spanish.  When she is not working she enjoys hanging out with friends and family and spending quality time with her fiance Joe.  Reina also enjoys taking trips, especially to Disneyland.

We are so proud of Reina and how far she has come with our hospital.  She is a positive role model for new technicians.  She is an amazing trainer and has successfully trained over a dozen new employees with her patience, positive demeanor and attention to detail.  She has helped several staff members meet their career goals and continues to enrich BRVC by helping create long-lasting empployees.  Reina sets an extraordinary example for our team as she continuously keeps BRVC's mission alive through her dedication to our patients and their owners.  We couldn't be more proud of Reina and her success here at BRVC and look forward to working with her for many more years to come.  "The best part of my job is helping my patients.  Our clients consider their pets part of the family and it gives me joy and a sense of purpose to be able to help make a difference in their lives.  And in return they help me too because when I get to focus on their needs, it helps me forget about any worries in my life".

Congratulations Reina!
