Meet Honey: A Sweet Senior Golden Girl with a Heart Full of Love

Some dogs have a special way of making everyone they meet smile, and Honey is one of them! At around 10 years young and 55 pounds, this sweet, mellow girl has a heart full of love and a personality that’s impossible to resist. Whether she’s greeting her favorite people with happy wiggles, proudly carrying a squeaky toy around the yard, or soaking up belly rubs, Honey has a way of making even the simplest moments feel special.

Despite being a senior, Honey still has plenty of playful energy and a love for life. She enjoys walks, sunny afternoons, canine companions, and, most of all, spending time with her favorite humans. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who can join you for little adventures and then happily curl up beside you for a cozy evening, Honey might just be your perfect match.

A Little More About Honey…

Sweet, Mellow, Gentle, Happy, and Delightful Golden Girl!

OH… MY… DOG! That’s what EVERYONE says when they meet me for the first time—and it’s usually followed by a BIG smile stretching ear to ear.

Hi, I’m Honey! I also go by Honey Bunny, Honey Boo—and pretty much every adorable synonym of something sweet my volunteer friends can come up with! Well, what can I say? I just seem to have that effect on anyone I meet.

I’m the sweetest, cutest, mellowest and happiest girl you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting. I’m about 10 years young and weigh around 55 pounds—just the perfect size for cozy cuddles and drooly kisses on the couch.

My favoritest thing in the whole wide world is YOU! I’m happy making you happy—whether we’re going on an adventure, playing together, or just cozying up to Netflix and chilling. As long as I’m by your side and get to love and adore you, nothing else matters to me.

For a senior gal, I’m quite active and playful! Hey, I can give the younger doggoss a run for their treats! You’ll find me actively and happily romping around the yard with my wiggly butt in action, proudly showing off a squishy toy in my mouth.

I love going on sniffaris and catching up on all the latest shelter doggo gossip! I may pull a bit at the start of our walkies because I’m just so excited after spending time in my kennel, but give me a few minutes to get my wiggles out, and I’ll settle into a nice walking rhythm by your side.

I enjoy lazing in the sun, cuddling with my volunteer buddies, soaking up belly rubs, giving lots of kisses, and resting at their feet while gazing up at them adoringly!

I’m super smart too! I’ll sit when you ask me to—or whenever I sniff an incoming treat! My volunteer buddies love how I happily run straight into their arms when they call me. They also like that, no matter how excited I get when they come to my kennel, I greet them politely with all four paws on the ground and patiently let them leash me. When it’s time to go back, I trot right back in and sit on my bed for a well-earned treat, which I take very gently!

I absolutely adore other doggos! My volunteer friends say I can be both playful and nurturing with them—especially the younger pups. If you have a doggo, please do bring them along for an on-leash meet-and-greet to see if we’re a paw-fect match.

So, what do you think? Can I spend my golden years filling your home—and your heart—with sunshine, snuggles, happy wiggles, and more love than you ever imagined? Come meet me and let’s fall head-over-paws for each other. All I want is the chance to love you—will you let me?
