Steady Hands & Compassionate Hearts — Niki & Lauren Are June’s Employees of the Month

  At Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center, we’re proud to recognize team members who embody the skill, heart, and collaboration that define our care. This June, we’re shining the spotlight on two incredible women whose leadership and dedication inspire those around them every day—Niki and Lauren.

  Whether it’s Niki’s calm precision in the surgical suite or Lauren’s thoughtful guidance of our remote phone team, both bring experience and empathy to their roles in ways that truly elevate our hospital.

  Niki has been part of the BRVC family for nearly 20 years. As a surgical technician in our Treatment department, she plays an essential role in ensuring every patient receives safe, skillful, and compassionate care during some of the most critical moments of their visit. Her daily responsibilities include inducing and monitoring anesthesia, prepping patients for surgery, and assisting with blood donor collection—tasks that require both technical expertise and a steady, confident presence.

  Throughout her time here, Niki has also worked in our Drop-in/Outpatient department, bringing a wealth of knowledge to every shift she works. She shared that one of her favorite aspects of the job is “working closely with our doctors in surgery and taking care of patients during their surgeries.” That hands-on connection to patient care and her behind-the-scenes leadership make her a trusted teammate and a vital part of our surgical team.

  Lauren has been a part of our BRVC team since February 2013. Over the years, she’s gained valuable experience in Client Service, Exam Rooms, and Pharmacy—skills she’s brought together to become the thoughtful and steady leader she is today. Her time at our sister hospital, Amador Valley Veterinary Center, further broadened her perspective and deepened her commitment to compassionate care.

  Now serving as our hybrid Phone Room Supervisor, Lauren consistently demonstrates the kind of leadership that strengthens and unites her team. Managing the challenges of hybrid and remote work, she maintains a calm, positive presence that helps her team stay focused and supported. Known for her thoughtful communication and ability to see all angles, Lauren ensures processes run smoothly while considering how changes impact both clients and staff. Always proactive, she seeks ways to improve and encourages collaboration across departments.

 
  "What I look forward to most each day is leading a team that serves as the first line of support for our clients,” Lauren shared. “Whether helping a new puppy family schedule their first visit or offering comfort during the most difficult goodbyes, I understand these moments deeply from my own experiences. I find meaning in guiding my team to be that calm, compassionate voice—offering clear communication, empathy, and steady support through every stage of a pet’s life. Knowing we can make a positive difference during both joyful and heartbreaking times inspires me every day.”

  Together, Niki and Lauren bring heart, skill, and quiet leadership to every day they’re here. Their commitment helps make BRVC a place where patients receive exceptional care, clients feel supported, and our team continues to thrive.
